Background Information

Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires 4 to 6 additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Rentschler manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Dr. Rentschler practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from corrective jaw surgery to wisdom tooth removal. He can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, TMJ disorders, and performs a full range of reconstructive and dental implant procedures as well as oral cancer screening examinations.

Dr. Rentschler maintains staff privileges at OSF/St. Anthony Medical Center, Swedish-American Hospital, Rockford Memorial Hospital, and The Rockford Ambulatory Surgery Center. Dr. Rentschler is Board Certified by The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and The National Board of Dental Anesthesiology. He has been providing Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery care for patients in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin since 1986.

Surgical Staff

The surgical staff at Dr. Rentschler’s office are experienced oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who assist in administration of I.V. sedation, general anesthesia, and surgery within our state of the art office facility. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery. Our staff has over 50 years of combined experience in the oral surgical field. All staff members are cross trained for surgery and anesthetic duties. Our administrative staff is well-versed in health and insurance policies. All office personnel are CPR certified. We maintain strict sterilization practices and are committed to the health and safety of our patients.
